On 17 and 18 October 2022, a delegation of members of the Court of Cassation went to Strasbourg for a study visit to the European Court of Human Rights, as part of the annual training programme organised for newly installed magistrates.
The programme of the visit offered the members of the Court of Cassation the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the organisation and functioning of the European Court and its various departments, as well as of the Council of Europe, in particular the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ). In addition, the delegation was able to attend the Chamber hearing held on 18 October 2022 in the case of Pagerie v. France, and also to meet with the French judge, Mr. Mattias Guyomar.
The training programme is part of the close relationship between the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Cassation and contributes to the strengthening of the dialogue between the two institutions.
