On 27 September 2023, the Cour de cassation welcomed a delegation of around twenty young judges from the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate to discuss the methods of the Cour de cassation and the French judicial system.
Led by Bernhard Thurn, First President of the Deux-Ponts Court of Appeal, the delegation included the heads of the Land's main courts, as well as magistrates in their first years in office.
During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to discuss the workings of the Court of Cassation and its working methods with Stéphanie Kass-Danno, judge referee. They were then given a tour of the Court's heritage by Philippe Galanopoulos, curator of libraries.
This very fruitful meeting, which is part of the Cour de cassation's international strategy and regular exchanges with neighbouring European judicial systems, made it possible to promote the exchange of information and experience between the Cour de cassation and its European counterparts.
