Visit of a delegation from Rhineland-Palatinate

05/10/2022

On 28 September 2022, the Cour de cassation (Court of Cassation) welcomed a delegation of approximatively thirty young judges from the Land of Rhineland-Palatinate (Germany) in order to exchange on the functioning of the Court of Cassation and on the French judicial system.

Led by Mr Bernhard Thurn, First President of the Court of Appeal of Deux-Ponts, the delegation was composed of the heads of the main courts of the Land, as well as judges in their first years of office.

During the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to exchange with Ms Stéphanie Kass-Danno, judge referee, the outline of the functions at the Cour de cassation (Court of Cassation) and its working methods. Then, they enjoyed a conservatory visit presented by Philippe Galanopoulos, curator of the libraries.

This enriching meeting, in line with the Court of Cassation's international strategy and regular exchanges, helped to promote dialogue between European judges and mutual knowledge of our judicial systems.
