On 12 May, the Court of cassation welcomed a delegation from the Supreme Court of Singapore, for the third edition of the France Singapore Symposium.
First President Christophe Soulard welcomed a delegation from the Supreme Court of Singapore, led by Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, on 12 May. This meeting was part of the third edition of the Symposium organised by the University of Paris II Panthéon Assas, the Paris Bar Association and the French Embassy in Singapore on the use of new technologies in justice matters.
The exchanges, during this meeting, focused on the role of new technologies on justice and on the benefits and risks of their use. The two heads of court also discussed issues relating to initial and ongoing training for judges in new technologies.
Given the common interest of both courts in these subjects, the two heads of court agreed to launch a work programme, remotely and in person.
The signing of a cooperation agreement between the Court of Cassation and the Supreme Court of Singapore marked this desire for enhanced cooperation. Further discussions are to be held before the end of the year.
